Oppo Find X3 Pro Review: A high-end smartphone with cutting-edge features

Sitting on a premium price of S$1,599.00 is Oppo's latest flagship Find X3 Pro, bringing in new cutting-edge features aside from its sleek design. And as far as we have tested out, the Find X3 Pro is worth considering for users looking for a high-end smartphone with a premium design alternative to Samsung and Apple.

Specification

Camera

The Find X3 Pro features a quad camera, consisting of a primary camera with a Sony IMX766 sensor for both the 50MP wide-angle and 50MP ultra-wide-angle, a 13MP telephoto with five times hybrid optical zoom and 20 times digital zoom, and a 3MP microlens camera.

Also, the Find X3 Pro has a 1 Billion+ Color, paired with the OPPO's full-path 10-bit color management system, that captures a true-to-life vibrancy media in both photography and video, which is excellent for users who work in an industry dealing with colors professionally.

Photography Quality

Primary and Ultra-wide-angle lens: The Find X3 Pro captures exceptional color quality images in both their primary and ultra-wide-angle lens, seemingly breathing life into it. As seen from the sample images above, the ultra-wide-angle photo also maintained a color consistency as its primary photo, which not many smartphones, including flagship models, can achieve.

Telescope lens: Offering only up to a five-times hybrid optical zoom and twenty-times digital zoom, the Find X3 Pro seems less appealing than its predecessor to most consumers. Also, the five-times zoom photo sample showed a small degree of noticeable noise but acceptable.

Microlens Camera:  Although it may not be practical for everyday usage, it does seem like a bonus to have a 3MP microscope lens on a smartphone. By placing the lens closely (1-3mm away) from the subject, the user can view the subject 30times or 60times magnified. There is also a ring of light around the lens, which gives the subject in focus great lighting to it. However, unless you have a stable hand, snapping a photo with this lens requires a level of control and focus.

Display

The Find X3 Pro significantly focuses on its display, featuring a large 6.7-inch AMOLED breathtaking curved display with a true billion color QHD+ (3216 x 1440) resolution and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. It also has a crystal clear 525 PPI pixel density and 500nits of display brightness that can reach a peak of 1300 nits, producing a sharp and bright display.

In addition, the Find X3 Pro has a color accuracy rating of 0.4 Just Noticeable Color Difference (JNCD), a 100% DCI-P3 gamut, and an A+ Display Mate certificate, which guarantees professional-grade color accuracy.

Performance

The Find X3 Pro features the latest Snapdragon 888 5G, 5nm processor chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and a 256GB Storage space. The interface is snappy, apps launch in a flash, and with the system-on-chip built-in 5G, the download and web browsing speed are unsurprisingly swift. For instance, it only took 2min5sec to download the Asphalt 9 game app, which has a 2.18GB large file size.

In terms of benchmarks, the Find X3 Pro delivers a 939 single-core score and a 3365 multi-core score, outdoing the S$1,798.00 Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra smartphone a tad, which uses the Exynos 2100 chipset. On the other hand, the Find X3 Pro lags behind the Xiaomi Mi 11 ultra, which also uses the Snapdragon 888 and only costs S$1,399.00. However, the gap is not significant in numbers, and few will likely notice the difference in the high-end processing spectrum.

Gaming Performance

The Find X3 Pro runs pretty smoothly, even in graphic demanding mobile games. And this includes popular mobile gaming such as Asphalt 9, PUBG Mobile, Genshin Impact, and COD. It has a touch sampling rate of up to 240Hz for two fingers gameplay and a default 120Hz for ten fingers. The audio is also loud and has excellent clarity to it, allowing an overall immersive gaming experience. And according to Oppo, there is also an O-Sync Display Hyper Response Engine, which tripled the synchronization speed between the display and processor, further enhancing the overall gaming experience with immediate response (5-10 ms) and lag-free.

Battery

Carrying a large 4500mAh battery size, the Find X3 Pro supports fast charging, giving a full battery for around 30mins, and 80mins with the 30W AirVOOC wireless charging. And with a full charge, the smartphone can last the whole day, even after long hours of entertainment such as youtube viewing, gaming, web browsing, and playing music.
